The artists address survivance: a term that emphasizes both cultural survival and resistance in the face of hundreds of years of genocide and mass atrocities. Turtle Island is the name given to North America by the Anishinabek, the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), and the Lenape-some of the Indigenous people of this region.

The exhibition addresses the histories and present-day realities of the first people of this continent through contemporary Native American art.

In addition to the exhibit’s text, images, and artifacts, personal testimonies from local Holocaust survivors offer painful insights into these excruciating landscapes of degradation and dehumanization. These extensive networks of ghettos, transit camps, women’s camps, forced labor camps, and extermination camps, to name a few, played a central role in the Holocaust-the annihilation of six million Jews-as well as the mass murder of millions more Poles, Roma and Sinti, homosexuals, people with disabilities, social outcasts, Jehovah’s Witnesses, as well as other political and religious opponents. These incarceration sites, which Adolf Hitler used as a mechanism to terrorize and eliminate non-Aryan groups (those seen as “subhuman,” “useless eaters,” and not part of the pure, white, Germanic race), ranged from small barns to compounds with populations of a medium-sized city. Approximately 44,000 concentration camps and ghettos existed across Nazi-occupied Europe and North Africa during World War II. System designer is a really cool too as it is, you can already make system that play almost like a new gamemode, I just wish process was even easier, and people should know what kind of system they are joining.This original exhibition at the Harriet & Kenneth Kupferberg Holocaust Center surveys the scope and brutality of the Nazi system of incarceration and genocide, underscoring the horrific consequences of intolerance, racism, and authoritarianism. I was in a game like this, it was a big surprise lol. Like, 'There is a planet with very little metal, and 9 tiny moons, each one can be smashed with only one engine, and all the spawn points are on moons'. Simple explanation of what are you going to see or even a backstory if you wish so. But what size? Which are smashable? Where you can start? How much metal they have? You can get all this info pregame when you are selecting spawn, but it might be too late by this point.Īnd since user created systems can be very different in play style, it might be a good idea to let people add descriptions for systems they make. You can see some info before joining, but when you joined, what you know is only how many planets are there. And last suggestion, that is not directly for system designer, but is related: since we can create custom systems, and some of them might be crazy, it'd be great if we could see more info on system in lobby. And maybe even show possible spawn points? Maybe I am missing something and it is there?ģ. Since there are two parameters that control metal distribution, results may vary. Currently, if I want to check that, I have to save system and load a game. I'd love if there was a way to see how metal is going to be distributed on planet you are making. A little check box, and at match start, game only lets you spawn at certain planet.Ģ.

Say, you are creating system that is intended to be played with each team having it's own planet, so you'd want to make sure no team starts at same planet. It'd be very cool if you could force planets to have spawns only for one team. However, some good things are either missing, or I just haven't found a way to do this:ġ. So, system designer is a really really nice tool, that not only allows you to create normal system according to your taste, but also systems that play differently.
